Workspaces

Workspaces are project directories opened in MadoHub. Each workspace corresponds to one frame on the canvas — MadoHub doesn't have a separate workspace concept beyond this — and serves as the default working directory for terminal tiles created inside that frame.

Adding a workspace

1. Open the command palette (Cmd+Shift+P) and select Open Project/Frame.
2. Choose a directory in the file dialog.
3. MadoHub creates a frame on the canvas for that directory.

There is no separate workspace switcher in a left sidebar — a per-frame navigator can show that frame's file tree, but adding a workspace always goes through Open Project/Frame in the command palette.

Working with multiple workspaces

There is no global "active workspace." Each frame is independent and keeps its own project directory, so you can have as many workspaces open side by side as you have frames on the canvas. To jump between them, use the command palette's go-to-frame and go-to-tile commands, or Cmd+K to open global search.

Workspace data

Frame layout, including the project directory each frame maps to, is persisted in ~/.madohub/canvas-state.json.

~/.madohub/config.json also contains a workspaces list and an activeWorkspaceId field, but these are legacy and inactive — no part of the app currently reads or writes them, so they can be ignored.

Workspace names are derived from the folder name.
