MadoHub Companion: Mirror Your Canvas to Your iPhone

A new iOS app pairs with your Mac in seconds and mirrors your canvas over the local network — no cloud relay, no account, your conversation stays on your Wi-Fi.

Today we're shipping Companion: an iOS app that mirrors your MadoHub canvas onto your phone. It's a LAN mirror, not a cloud relay — nothing about your canvas, your agents, or your terminal output passes through a MadoHub server. Your Mac and your phone talk directly to each other over the same Wi-Fi network, and the connection verifies itself with a token and a challenge-response handshake rather than sending the token over the wire.

What you can do now

  • Pair your iPhone in seconds — enable Companion in Settings, copy a pairing link into the iOS app, and you're connected. No account, no cloud round-trip.
  • See your canvas from your phone — frames, tiles with position and status, a tail of recent terminal output, available Flows, and recent workspaces, all mirrored read-only.
  • Open a tile for its full terminal tail so you can read what an agent has been doing without walking back to your Mac.
  • Send input back to a tile — free text, or a key press like escape, ctrl-c, or enter — through the same input path the desktop uses.
  • Trigger commands from your phone — create a terminal, open a workspace frame, or kick off a Flow with a prompt — and the Mac executes them exactly as if you'd triggered them locally.

How to try it

  1. Open Settings → General on the Mac and enable Companion.
  2. Settings shows a pairing link — copy it into the Companion iOS app.
  3. Your phone mirrors the canvas over the local network.
  4. Tap a tile to read its full tail, or send input and commands back to the Mac.

Privacy and what stays local

Companion is LAN-only by design. No audio, terminal output, or canvas state is relayed through any MadoHub server — your Mac and phone communicate directly over your Wi-Fi. Pairing uses a token plus a challenge-response handshake, so the token itself never travels over the network and a captured response can't be replayed later. The connection has no TLS, which means a passive observer on the same LAN could in theory read mirrored traffic, but they can't inject input without the token. If you want maximum privacy, pair on a trusted network.

Why it matters / use case

Companion turns your phone into a quick remote for MadoHub. You step away from your desk while a long agent run is in flight, and from your phone you can check whether it's still working, read its latest output, send a y to a permission prompt it's been waiting on, or kick off a Flow you forgot to start. You can't drag tiles or rewire connections from the phone — it's a mirror plus lightweight input, not a second editor — but for keeping an eye on a fleet and nudging it along, it's enough to stay unchained from your desk.

What's next / limitations

Companion requires a macOS host for now — pairing relies on the Mac's secure random source, and the Windows path isn't wired up yet. The mirror is read-only for canvas layout: you can read tiles and send input and commands, but not rearrange the canvas itself from the phone.
